3. Homemade Bath Bombs

There’s nothing more relaxing than soaking in a warm, bubbly bath after a long day at work. So why not spoil someone you care for with a heart-shaped bath bomb this Valentine’s Day? And the best part is that you can make it yourself!

Here’s what you will need:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup epsom salts
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • Red food colouring
  • 2½ tbsp coconut oil (melted)
  • ¾ tbsp water
  • 12-15 drops essential oil
  • Silicone heart mould

How to make it:

  • In a medium bowl, mix all dry ingredients together. Add as much food colouring as you desire. Whisk to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, combine all the wet ingredients.
  • Gradually add all the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Be very careful when doing so as you do not want to accidentally activate the fizzing affect. Once the ingredients are properly combined, the ingredients will look like wet sand.
  • Pack the mixture carefully into each mould until full then press the halves together firmly. Allow the mould to sit for one minute then lightly tap and gently pull it apart to remove the bath bomb.
  • Allow the bath bomb to dry for 24 hours before use.
