Irish Oat Flapjacks
Serves 10 Flapjacks
Ingredients
- 75g (3 oz) (6 tbsp), extra to grease Kerrygold Pure Irish Salted Butter
- 50g (2 oz) (¼ cup) light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 175g (6 oz) (2 cups) rolled oats
Directions
What a delectable culinary comfort. Delicious hot or cold, you can whip up these tasty morsels in no time. Hallelujah for life’s simple pleasures!
- Preheat the oven 180°C (350°F), Gas Mark 4. Grease a shallow 18cm (7in) cake tin. Square or round, as you please. Melt the butter with the sugar and syrup in a pan over a low heat. When it’s blended, pour the mixture over the oats in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly, then spoon and scrape the mixture into your prepared tin and press firmly.
- Bake the flapjacks for 20 minutes flat. When they turn golden brown, take them out and allow them to cool just a little. Knife in hand, carve them into slices or fingers and loosen the edges around the tin. When set, remove them from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
- Time to serve. If you feel like sharing, good on you. If you don’t, well you are only human!
